Fuelled by commitment to unlocking hidden potential, the Self-Regulated Learner team ensures secondary and university students develop the tools needed to succeed and make a positive difference in a rapidly changing 21st Century world. We believe in 'truly educating' our students.
We understand that no two students are the same - what each student brings to his or her learning will reflect his or her personality, previous experiences, aspirations, etc. Drawing on our subject knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and other aspects of our expertise, we teach students, not subjects.
We get to know our students really well and build on their strengths and interests to ensure they learn challenging content and can successfully apply it to academic tasks and assessments.
We believe that how students learn is just as important as what students learn. We have developed processes, protocols and heuristics that our students use to develop effective, sophisticated skills, demystifying the road to academic success.
We meet our students where they are and help them use their own questions and curiosity to build their subject knowledge and improve their performance.
Teaching students to approach their learning with a critical eye, an interest in multiple perspectives, and evidence-based reasoning makes learning more engaging and helps them find and develop their own voice.
We help our students recognise and embrace the vital role of 'grappling' and provide them with the tools, strategies and skills they need to overcome obstacles.
