Through whole school or small group Continuing Professional Development, we support schools in understanding and embedding the principles of Universal Design for Learning into teaching and curriculum design. UDL is a way of designing learning experiences that simultaneously challenge and support a diverse population of students in their development of learning strategies and subject-specific knowledge and skills, ensuring they are able to thrive in challenging educational contexts. Further CPD topics that fit within the UDL framework include Self-Regulated Learning promoting pedagogical approaches such as effective collaborative learning, inquiry-based instruction, and Assessment for Learning.
We can also tailor CPD to support individual departments with subject specific professional development to increase the effectiveness of students' learning in those subject areas. We work closely with schools to understand their culture and priorities, and our workshops are designed to and to 'meet them where they are' and to be coherent and compatible with ongoing professional development efforts.
In today's globalised world, critical and creative thinking, active inquiry, and service learning are highly valued. We support schools in developing Service Learning Programmes that encourage students to make connections between their learning and the wider world and to aspire to lead socially impactful lives.
Through whole school or small group Continuing Professional Development, we support schools in understanding and embedding the principles of Reflective Practice into teaching and curriculum design, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity in students.
We offer workshops in student-centred topics such as:
An effective Arts programme will not only develop students' artistic skills and nurture talent, it will increase students' inclination to think creatively as well as develop students' powers of observation, which is vital for problem-solving. We will help your school move beyond traditional ways of thinking about the Arts to a more progressive, 21st Century conception.
